Awareness
You will never get past this first step towards a better online presence if you don’t make a conscious decision to choose to do something different. People need to see your ministry in action before they can begin to know the real you: who you are, the heartbeat of your mission, and how what you have to offer can transform their life through the power of the Word of God. Highlight aspects of your church that represent you in a unique and compelling way.
Research
Once the curiosity is piqued, they will begin to seek more information. They may visit your website and check out your social media pages. They might even watch past messages.
Consideration
This is when they will truly begin to consider attending a service at your church. We want to invite them to join us by sharing a story that will speak to their personal life; something that starts with their current reality and leads them into a story of transformation. Be clear about what makes your church stand out. Showcase programs offered that will cause people to already feel that your church could be place where they belong.
Decision
At this point, the visitor has likely already narrowed down their choice to just a couple of churches. They may be trying to decide based on location, online presence, or how what they have experienced so far makes them feel. Then they decide if visiting your church is what is best for them at this specific time in their life.
Action
They attend your weekend service, you get to meet them face to face, and now you get to continue the journey of plugging them into the various on-ramping opportunities you may have available. A good marketing funnel will also help your church understand if people actually complete an action (i.e., download a resource, or attend a service).
Effectiveness
Your new visitor is ready to attend their first service at your church. They have likely had a hectic morning waking up, getting dressed, getting kids ready and in the car, driving to your church, and walking through your doors. You can make the next step easier. Through the Plan Your Visit strategy, they will walk in already feeling known
